Historically the dragon served as China's national emblem, but in recent decades the giant panda has become the most beloved symbol of the country. Pandas live in the cold and rainy bamboo forests high in the mountains of western China. There are only about 1,600 giant pandas left in the wild and about 160 in zoos. They are threatened with extinction, mainly because their habitat is being deforested. This adorable panda is approximately 7.5 inches tall; it's made from certified organic cotton "fur" and soy stuffing.
