Mammoth Bone North Sea WOOLY MAMMOTH BONE:
From the NORTH SEA
The Woolly Mammoth are perhaps the most well known species of mammoth. They existed up until the end of the Pleistocene (10,000 years ago) and are common in the fossil record. Unlike most other prehistoric animals, their remains are often not literally fossilized (turned into stone.) They are preserved in their organic state due in part to the frozen climate of their habitats, and also to their massive size. Woolly mammoths are among the best-understood prehistoric vertebrates known to science!
This bone is approx 5.5" x 4".
