Trilobite Pendant TRILOBITES - (Elrathis Kingi)
are extinct arthropods that lived from the Cambrian to the Permian eras, 600-300 million years ago. These bottom feeding marine creatures were one of the most plentiful and successful of animals. The name Trilobite refers to its three lobed appearance. Every Trilobite is divided into three chambers. It was one of the first animals to evolve eyes; some of their complex compound eyes had as many as 15,000 facets! Trilobites range in size from 1/4 inch to over 30 inches. They vanished mysteriously from the seas over 225 million years ago.
This pendant is fashioned from an actual fossilized trilobite, approx 1.75" long. (chain sold separately)
